Lebanon, N.H. -- Barbara L. (Gray) White, 83, died peacefully on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at Wheelock Terrace in Hanover after a brief illness. Barbara was born on what is now the Walhowdon Farm to Raymond Gray and Eloise (Rogers) Gray. She graduated from Lebanon High School in 1946 and worked for many years as a bookkeeper at T&L Electric in White River Jct. VT.
Barb enjoyed the company of family and friends and participated in many social events. She was always ready for a game of cribbage and enjoyed many evenings of laughter playing Bid Whist with members of the family. She was a longtime member of the Catholic Daughters, the Emblem Club and after the death of her husband, the Mascoma Bank Platinum Club. She and her friend Virginia Gibson traveled together to many locations around the globe, enjoying each adventure and planning for the next.
She was predeceased by her high school sweetheart and husband, Roland A. White, as well as two brothers Russell and Fred. She is survived by two daughters, Susan Bennett and her husband Rob of Holden, MA and Linda von Reyn and her husband Dave of Canaan, NH, as well as two sisters Hazel McKittrick of Salisbury MD. and Geraldine Melanson of Quincy MA.
Calling hours will be held for family and friends at the Ricker Funeral Home in Lebanon on Wednesday, August 1st from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be on Thursday, August 2 at the Sacred Heart Church at 10:00 a.m., followed by the burial at the Sacred Heart Cemetery and a lunch reception at Sacred Heart Church Hall
