West Lebanon, NH – Robert N. “Bob” Pelton, 93, passed away in the comfort of his home on Saturday, July 21, 2012 with his wife and children at his side. He was born on July 29, 1918 in Hanover, NH to the late Albon M. & Ethel M. (Johnson) Pelton. Robert served in The US Army during WW II and he was stationed at Camp Forrest in Tullahoma, TN. He married Yvette C. LaPlante on June 19, 1943. Robert retired from Dartmouth College after forty plus years of service. He enjoyed doing yard work and was very proud of his manicured lawn. He had many hobbies that included reading, woodworking, remote control air planes and boats, camping and visiting the ocean.
He leaves behind his wife of sixty nine years Yvette Pelton of West Lebanon, NH, a son, Glenn Pelton and Debra of Norridgewock, ME, a daughter, Susan Douglas and Robert of Hillsboro, NH, two grandsons, Ryan Pelton and fiancé Lauren Kowalczyk of Rome, ME and Benjamin Pelton and Rachael of Chattanooga, TN, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Kenneth “Nick” Pelton and a sister Angie “Ann” Swanson.
Robert’s family would like to express their gratitude to the Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice for the kind compassion and thoughtful concern for Robert and his family during this time. There will be no calling hours, family and friends are invited to a graveside service at the West Lebanon Cemetery in West Lebanon, NH on Thursday, July 26, 2012 at 11 am, Rev. Ted Brayman will officiate Memorial donations may be made to Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice of VT & NH, P.O. Box White River Junction., VT 05001-0976.
