Canaan, Vermont—Roger P. Preston, 72, formerly of Salem, NH died at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH on Sunday, July 8, 2012.

He was on June 26, 1940 in Brighton, MA to the Late Paul & Adel (Miller) Preston. Roger loved boating and water skiing. He had thirty plus years of snowmobiling experience and traveled tens of thousands of miles in Quebec with dear friends and family. He also spent twenty years visiting the Balsam’s on his snowmobile. Roger raced at New England Drag way from 1966-1969 in his 1965 Ford Mustang in the Junior Stock Class with Engines by Watsons. He was a member of the Elks.

He is survived by his wife Susan J. “Cookie” Preston, two sons Michael & his wife LuAnn of Tampa, FL and Daniel Preston of Boston, brother in law Larry Cossar and his wife Shirley, cousins Marilyn Cunha and Bill Miller and his wife Carol, beloved Cousin Carol Engstrom and her husband Eric of Raymond, NH without you I couldn’t have gotten thru this.

There will be no calling hours; private services will be conducted at a later date.
