Manlius, NY - Gordon John Prue, 66, formerly of Enfield, NH, died at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon on Wednesday, June 20, 2012.
Gordon was born on March 5, 1946 in Malone, NY to Dorthea Amlott Prue. He attended schools in Malone where he graduated. He served as a United Methodist minister for twenty years and most recently worked as a security officer at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, from which he retired in the fall. Gordon enjoyed sports, camping, and the ocean.
He is survived by his wife, Jody, of Manlius, his son William Prue and wife Mariel and their children Gwendolyn, Grayson and Genevieve all of Manlius, his daughter Lori Bertone and husband Tony and their children Ainsley, Ethan and Lorelei all of Springfield, VT, his sister Joanne and husband Ross Maneeley of Lafargville, NY, and several nieces and nephews.
In August, his family and friends will send his remains out to sea at “Nubble” Light in Maine, as was his wish. The family suggests memorial donations be made to: Norris Cotton Cancer Center, DHMC, 1 Medical Center Drive, Lebanon, NH 03756-0001. There will be no calling hours.
